Maybelline: Big Eyes Mascara

It has been a HOT MINUTE since I last did a beauty post.
But I just picked this bad boy up and did a cute little video (check out /subscribe/become my new bff on my channel) on MissFashioneda and I thought, hey lets make it a double wammy and do a blog post as well!

Let's cover the basics:
Packaging: Cute, very typical Maybelline packaging.
Wand #1 (for upper lashes): Good wand, however it reminds me of a DNA in the way that is has a slight spiral to it, don't know if that supposed to benefit your lashes.
Wand #2 (for lower lashes): Much smaller brussels and also much stiffer. Thinner wand to get to the smaller lashes.

The top wand for the upper lashes was good, but not great. It definitely separated my lashes and made them thinker but as far as lengthening and making them appear like "falsies" I'm not that impressed. In fact I think the original Falsies did a better job at that. The lower wand for the lower lashes was a little harder to apply than I thought. Although its smaller, it's not small enough. I would have liked to have had an even smaller wand maybe shorter to really get closer to my lower lashes and into those tricky spaces.

It's a very decent mascara. 3.5 out of 5
I will get good use out of it and would repurchase, however it's not my HG mascara. I've definitely tried better, but also tried worse.

Let me know if you guys try it and what you think!

Here is a comparison to the original Falsies, the Big Eyes is much taller and thinner, as well as double ended.

Missing You

As most of you know, or maybe you don't (follow me on twitter so we don't have this awkward situation in the future), I'm home for the holidays back in Chicago. And although being home with my family, my friends, my dog, and my bed is amazing, I do find myself missing New York like crazy. I miss not hearing the consistent honking and sirens in the distance (that oddly became comforting). Also I miss being able to walk everywhere, I've learned to actually hate driving. I miss my not so glamorous but extremely homey dorm room. I miss the food, and call me crazy, the smells too. I don't know, I guess I fell more in love with that city than I thought. Here are some of my favorite pictures that warm my heart until I return.
